At MYZIJI, we design different dance shoes to meet your various needs. Many of you have asked, “What is the difference between flexible sole or extra-padded sole dance shoes? And suede sole versus street sole?” In this post we will break down the different types for you!
Difference between Suede Sole and Street Sole
Suede soles are soft, and have great flexibility for movement, allow dancers to glide effortlessly across the floor while providing enough grip. But suede sole dance shoes should only be worn on dry and smooth surface such as wooden floored studio, and you need to maintain them regularly with a shoe brush and keep the soles dry.
Street soles are made of PVC, a lightweight polymer that is 100% vegan. They can be worn on any surface indoor or outdoor, and are very flexible for spinning but offer less flexibility to point the toes. MYZIJI shoes have very comfortable cushioned padding, and are designed for optimal arch support.
If you are a professional Latin dancer, or need to perform, compete, or dance for long hours, suede soles are recommended. If you are a social dancer, or want to wear your dance shoes for special events, weddings, galas, and wear them without worry about the surface of the floor, street soles shoes are more convenient.
Our classic dance shoes usually come with suede soles, and our fashion dance shoes usually come with street soles but offer the option to custom-make suede soles.
Difference between Flexible Sole or Extra Padded Sole
Our Flexible and Extra Padded soles are both the suede type of shoe sole.
Our Flexible soles are more thin and lightweight. You will be able to do any foot movement easily. This choice is excellent for professional Ballroom, Latin, Rumba, Waltz, advanced Salsa, Cha Cha dance, etc. or for competitions and performances.

Extra padded dance heels have abundant padding, and great arch support. This makes you feel like dancing on a cloud! They are great for social Latin dances, including salsa, mambo, merengue, bachata, and more; and they are great for dancing long hours. They are also slightly wider than Ballroom Dance Shoes collection.
